Position Overview:
Milford Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospitalist Physician to join our dynamic and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified/board-eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to a diverse patient population. The successful candidate will be committed to clinical excellence, teamwork, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations, and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with consulting physicians and specialists to ensure coordinated and optimal patient care.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and plan care transitions.
- Provide clear and concise communication to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and prognosis.
- Document all patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the Epic electronic medical record system.
- Supervise and teach medical students and residents, contributing to their clinical education and development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
- Potential opportunities for leadership roles and participation in hospital committees based on experience and interest.
Qualifications
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Completion of an accredited ABIM or ABFM residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted CT medical license preferred
