Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist Visalia, CA

This vital role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality obstetric care in a fast-paced hospital environment, supporting maternal health and delivering exceptional patient experiences. Whether covering scheduled shifts or filling in during staffing gaps, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns.

Required Skills:
  • Board-certified or eligible OB/GYN physician
  • Valid medical license to practice in California
  • Proven experience in obstetrics, including labor and delivery management
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in a hospitalist model or locum tenens assignments
  • Knowledge of NICU level III care protocols
  • Familiarity with community-based obstetric practices
  • Basic surgical skills related to obstetrics
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ obstetric practice experience
  • Prior experience working in hospitalist or temporary staffing roles

Other Requirements:
  • Must be credentialed with hospital privileges
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • Participation in 24/7 in-house anesthesia coverage environment
  • Ability to handle emergent gynecologic cases as needed
  • Commitment to adhering to hospital policies and safety standards
