Physician - Hospitalist - OB/GYN - Palm Springs, CA
Position Overview:
Join our esteemed team at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA, as a full-time OB/GYN Hospitalist. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice in a vibrant community known for its resort lifestyle, scenic beauty, and warm climate. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care with the support of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide round-the-clock obstetric care, including attendance at approximately 60 deliveries per month, in a busy community hospital setting.
- Manage obstetric triage, patient evaluation, and management of both routine and high-risk pregnancies.
- Assist in surgical procedures related to obstetrics as needed.
- Continuously monitor fetal wellbeing via fetal monitoring techniques.
- Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists for inpatient consults and high-risk case management.
- Oversee care in a Level-III NICU supporting newborns 23 weeks gestation and above, with a 30-bed capacity.
- Provide coverage for the emergency room as part of the OB/GYN team.
- Work in a supportive environment with two OB Hospitalists on-site at all times, minimizing solo shifts.
- Engage in teaching opportunities for fellows, residents, and medical students to contribute to educational growth.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
- Current CA medical license or ability to obtain one.
- Residency training in OB/GYN with significant obstetric experience.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must reside within the immediate local area; relocation may be required.
- Note: We are not accepting candidates for locum or visa sponsorship.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time position: Approximately 7.5 24-hour in-house shifts per month (about 2,190 hours annually).
- Part-time options available: Minimum of approximately 5.5 shifts per month (about 1,560 hours annually), with benefits eligibility.
- Compensation at $150/hour, totaling approximately $328,500 annually for full-time employment.
- Additional bonus potential based on performance and organizational needs, to be discussed during interview.
