Salem Health is looking for an experienced Obstetrician to join our established hospital-based OB Hospitalist team on an unscheduled (per-diem) basis. The OB Hospitalist team is a critical part of our unit culture overseeing perinatal safety with 3400 births per year at Salem Health. The OB Hospitalist team works both 12 and 24 hour shifts to provide continuous coverage. Responsibilities include attending deliveries, OB triage for unassigned patients, supporting established practices with care of their inpatients and surgical assists as needed, providing back up to certified nurse midwives and family medicine providers, assuming responsibility for unassigned patients, and managing hospital transfers. Salem Hospital has 24 hr in-house anesthesia coverage, consultative maternal fetal medicine services, a high risk antepartum unit and a Level III NICU.

  • 10 bed Pediatric Unit which provides inpatient and outpatient services

  • 19 bed Labor & Delivery Unit (12 labor and 7 antepartum beds) with 2 operating rooms and 3 triage rooms

Qualifications

-Hold a degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
-Hold Board Certification in Obstetrics by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
-5 years of experience as a board certified/board eligible OBGYN Physician
-Performance of at least 50 deliveries in the past 2 years
-Hold a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon
