UPMC Jameson (a physician-led hospital) is growing and assembling an all-star hospitalist team that’s fully supported by APPs and UPMC specialists. We’re adding providers so that our hospitalists can spend more time with patients. Our program is very unique in that it is overseen by a hospital president (Beth Piccione, MD) who is a cardiologist, born & raised in the community she serves. Her priority is to expand a sustainable, hospitalist service attracting the best hospitalists to take care of her community – one that is focused on quality care rather than productivity.

NOCTURNIST at UPMC Jameson

UPMC Jameson’s nocturnists are not alone. The position features:

  • Support by 2 APPs who help with admissions (approx.. 10/night), cover ICU, codes, etc.
  • Procedures/lines provided by inhouse General Surgery residents
  • Intubations provided by ER/Anesthesia
  • ICU is “open” but managed almost exclusively by UPMC’s renowned Pulm/CC service
  • CC services provided in-person during days & via tele CC at night
  • Employment by UPMC Center for Community Hospitalist Medicine (CCHM)
  • Tele Critical Care service provided by UPMC’s renowned Pulm/CC program & coordinated by APP
  • UPMC’s Tele-Hospitalist service provides cross coverage as needed
  • 7 on/7 off schedule, 12-hour shift

Physician will treat hospitalized patients from admission through discharge, conducting history and physical assessments, strategizing to improve and/or manage patient health, and attempting to reduce their length of stay through safe medical practices and recommended treatment plans. Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • BLS, ACLS Certified
  • Must qualify for a medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
