Abington Hospital - Jefferson Health, our 665 bed hospital based in Abington Pennsylvania, is currently recruiting for full-time Nocturnists. Relocation and sign on bonus eligible.

The Nocturnist will work with a team of physicians and advanced practice professionals to cover internal medicine patients within Abington Jefferson Health who are not assigned to medicine resident services. Admissions, and cross coverage of general medicine, step down unit, and a select subset of Intensive care patients will be the primary responsibility of the Nocturnist team.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Salary: $300,000 w/ sign on bonus!
  • 12-hour shifts, 7 on / 7 off scheduling
  • Admit new patients and provide urgent care evaluation, as needed, for previously hospitalized patients.
  • Interview and examine patients, order appropriate tests, initiate treatment.
  • Cover critical care patients in intensive care units in collaboration with cardiology and pulmonary-critical care consultants.
  • Collaborate and supervise advance practice nurses and physician assistants in their own nocturnal role admitting new patients and evaluating urgent problems.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of 36 months of medical residency training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Passage of USMLE 1, 2, and 3 or COMLEX 1, 2, and 3
  • Must have or be eligible for PA Medical License
