Opportunity Details:

Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a board certified/board eligible Family Medicine or Internal Med-Peds Hospitalist Nocturnist to join its hospitalist service to work approximately 10-12 shifts a month. We seek a skilled and experienced physician who maintains a strong focus and commitment to providing outstanding and compassionate care to all patients.

Highlights Include:

  • Rounding on Adult and Pediatric patients (great mix for individual who wants inpatient work and ability to care for patients of all ages
  • Flexible scheduling of shifts, 8P-8A, 12-hour shifts
  • Inpatient clinical responsibilities including admissions, discharges, consults, and transfers
  • ICU management including rounding, running codes, vent management, and intubations
  • Attend caesarian sections and round in the newborn nursery (NRP certification is required)
  • Work independently; on-call specialists available by phone
  • Nocturnist can expect to have 4-5 patient encounters per night with an average of 3-4 Emergency Department admissions
  • Wide scope of services provided at hospital including General Surgery, OBGYN, Orthopedics, Primary Care and Urology
  • Ability to live in close proximity to Raleigh or Wilmington, North Carolina
