Manhattan, New York ~ Family Medicine Medical Director of Inpatient Services

  • Seeking a board-certified Family Medicine Physician
  • Lead the training of Family Medicine residents in a world-class academic hospital
  • Required: Demonstrated experience as a physician supervisor in an inpatient clinical setting and as a teacher and preceptor of residents and medical students
  • Strong understanding and passion for providing high quality care for underserved communities
  • 60 % Clinical / 40% Administrative Supervisory Position
  • Schedule:
    • Monday – Friday (8am-6pm)
    • Weeknight Call: (1:2) from home
    • Weekend coverage once per month (Hours: 8am-8pm) (extra compensation for this)
    • Typically, 2 weeks on service / 2 weeks of admin and teaching work
      • Hours might be shorter during the admin and teaching cycle
  • Clinical Work Expanded:
    • Rounding on patients
    • Admits are done by residents, the physician sees the patients later
    • See about 12 patients per day during the weekdays
    • See about 18 patients on the weekends but working with residents who provide most of the direct care
    • No ICU rounding or admits
    • Code response for one of your patients only
    • Procedures are not required but are a welcomed skillet
