Cross Country Locums is currently seeking physicians for a VAMC assignment in upstate NY. Below are the details:
Contractor will be providing coverage on weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights
Emergency Day Coverage: The Contractor shall be responsible for providing coverage to the VA during periods of vacancies of VA personnel in the Acute Hospital Unit and Urgent Care Room during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hospitalist to report to the VA within 2-hours of call-in.
The contractor shall be required to provide as a minimum, enough appropriately qualified physicians to be credentialed and privileged that exceed twice the number of FTE required to fulfill this contracts obligations. (which is 4.6, so 10 minimum credentialed candidates is the requirement, and we need a couple at least to be local for short turn around emergencies)
THIS IS A BID: Candidates and packages/documents due by 06/10/2022 at 11am.
Period Of Performance: Base year and four potential option years (5 years total potential)
BASE YEAR: September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023
Place of Performance: Services shall be provided on site, at the following locations:
Castle Point Medical Center
41 Castle Point Rd.
Wappingers Falls, NY 12590
AND
Franklin D Roosevelt VA Medical Center
2094 Albany Post Rd.
Montrose, NY 10548
The VA Full Time Equivalency (FTE) for the services required is 4.63 FTE or 9,632 hours. An FTE is defined by VA as a minimum of 80 hours every two weeks and does not include holidays. The Contractor shall propose a minimum of 10 key personnel to be credentialed and be available for scheduling to meet the requirements of the contract
The number of Hospitalists required to be on site, per site - per shift is 1 as defined in Hours of Operation in this section.
The Contractor shall furnish all personnel to provide services necessary to perform Hospitalist Physician Services on weekends, holidays, evenings and nights (WHEN) to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System hereinafter referred to as HVHCS in accordance with the terms, conditions, and provisions stated herein at the prices specified in the Schedule of Services. Contractor will be paid for actual hours worked as documented by sign-in/sign-out sheets.
The Contractor shall schedule and provide 9,632 hours of Hospitalist coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Hospitalist shall be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
The Contractor’s physician(s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contractor’s physician(s) who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
Be currently certified by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). ACLS is not a substitute for BLS certification
Contractor’s hospitalists shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
Hours of Operation:
M-F = 4pm -8am
Weekends = 8am Sat - 8am Sun
Federal Holiday = 8am on the holiday through 8am the day after the Holiday.
Rate: $180-$190/hr.
Travel: Expenses will not be covered
