**Palliative Care opportunity: Medford, OR** Ambulatory Palliative Care Experience Required **Position Details** - Full-time, permanent - Join the Palliative Care and Hospice service. - This position will be responsible for establishing a new ambulatory clinic, which will be embedded in the Group's Cancer Center. - After successful implementation the clinic will expand to provide embedded service in the regional Heart Care and Lung Care clinics supported by the regions largest Oncology, Cardiology and Pulmonary groups. **About the Medical Center and Group** - Regional Medical Center in Medford is a 378-bed regional referral center and Level II Trauma Center serving about 600,000 people in Southern Oregon and Northern California. - The Group has been named a Top 15 Health System 8 years in a row by Watson Health Analytics! - Not-for-profit, comprehensive health care system serving 600,000 residents in Southern Oregon and Northern California. - The regions top health care provider, with three hospitals and 40 ambulatory clinics. **Responsibilities** - Develop and implement a palliative care clinic in The Group's Cancer Center. - Develop and implement a palliative care clinic in local Heart and Lung Care clinics. - Provide outpatient palliative care consults in conjunction with a social worker. - Collaborate with inpatient palliative care and hospice team to ensure continuity of care and appropriate referrals of patients. **Qualifications** - Minimum of two years practicing as a Palliative Care physician, or at least two years practicing in a primary medical area before starting a Palliative Medicine fellowship. - Ability and willingness to work in team environment; excellent symptom management knowledge and skills; excellent communication skills; compassionate and caring demeanor with patients, families and colleagues; behavior that exemplifies organizational philosophy; positive attitude and enthusiasm for the work. - Prior experience in starting palliative care programs or clinics would be of great value but is not required. **Compensation and Benefits Details** - Annual base salary of $220,000 - Annual performance incentives of up to 16% of base salary starting in year 2 - Signing bonus of $50,000 - Up to $15,000 relocation assistance - Annual CME allowance of $5,000 - 240 hours (30 clinic days) of authorized time off per year - Excellent health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits **Location** - Southern Oregon is a great place to live, especially if you love the outdoors. - It offers year-around recreational activities, family- friendly communities, wonderful schools and an opportunity to enjoy a well-balanced life. - The region is home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Britt Music and Arts Festival, Southern Oregon University, Crater Lake National Park, the Rogue River and award-winning wineries and vineyards. - Drive to the spectacular Oregon coast in two hours or fly to San Francisco or Portland in 50 minutes. - Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport is centrally located and easily accessible from most airports.
