Position Overview
We are seeking a Hospice & Palliative Care Physician (MD/DO) to provide PRN coverage for a well-established, community-based hospice program serving Montgomery County and surrounding areas.
This role focuses on interdisciplinary, patient-centered hospice care across home and inpatient settings. The organization has served the community for decades and maintains a strong collaborative care model.

Schedule & Coverage
• PRN schedule – days per week TBD
• Participation in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings:
• Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays
• 9:00am–12:00pm
• Admissions coverage on select weekdays (8:30am–5:00pm)
• Weeknight call (5:00pm–8:30am)
• Weekend call (Friday 5:00pm–Monday 8:30am)
• On-call compensated via flat rate
• Advance notice provided when possible

Clinical Responsibilities
• Establish, review, and manage hospice plans of care
• Perform certifications and recertifications
• Participate in IDG collaboration
• Oversee symptom management and goals-of-care discussions
• Educate patients and families on prognosis and treatment plans
• Support documentation including narratives and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with hospice nurses, social workers, chaplains, and team members

Requirements
• MD or DO
• Active Maryland medical license
• Active DEA
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine strongly preferred
• IM or FM physicians with hospice experience considered
• Prior hospice, palliative, geriatrics, or related experience preferred
