Simultaneous coverage and physician oversight of three services:

Inpatient Palliative Medicine Consult Service

Outpatient Palliative Medicine Clinic

Home-based Hospice Care Service

EMR: Cerner
Workload & Patient Volume
Average Inpatient Consult Census: 12–18 patients/day
Patients shared with Advance Practice Providers on inpatient service
Call Pages:
7 PM – 7 AM: ~1 call/page
7 AM – 7 PM: ~10 calls/pages
Job Responsibilities
Shift: 7-on, 7-off schedule (Tuesday 8 AM → following Tuesday 8 AM)
Call: 24-hour coverage for hospice service; flexible 7-day stretches possible depending on availability
Intermittent Coverage Dates:
March 3–9
March 17–23
March 31–April 6
April 14–20
April 28–May 4
Qualifications
Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (REQUIRED)
BLS certification (REQUIRED)
Active MI medical license (PREFERRED)
NPDB Self-Query report pulled within one month of credentialing (REQUIRED)
