Job description
A leading cancer program in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology physician for locum coverage due to permanent recruitment needs. This is a full-time outpatient malignant hematology position focused on leukemia and lymphoma cases (no bone marrow transplant patients). Providers within a 50-mile radius of the worksite are considered local under facility guidelines; travel accommodations are available for those outside the radius.
The practice utilizes EPIC EMR and offers strong clinical support including multiple physicians, APPs, RNs, and MAs. Minimum commitment of two weeks per month (consecutive or alternating) will be considered.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide care for leukemia and lymphoma cases
• Complete all clinic documentation and charting during scheduled hours
• Participate in weeknight pager call (second call coverage only; fellows take first call)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology team
• No bone marrow biopsies required (performed by APPs)
• No weekend call
Qualifications
• Active Pennsylvania Medical License (strongly preferred)
• Pennsylvania DEA License
• BLS and ACLS Certifications
• Will consider licensure candidates (IMLC or standard process)
• Ability to complete credentialing and required background checks (Act 33, Act 34, Act 73)
Working Hours
• 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE)
• Minimum 6-month assignment
• Weeknight pager call: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM (second call only)
• No weekend call
Skills
• Strong clinical decision-making and oncology treatment planning
• Efficient documentation within EPIC EMR
• Ability to manage 15–20 patients per day
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach to cancer care
