Job description
An established outpatient oncology program in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology Physician located within a 50-mile radius to provide specialized care for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other malignant hematologic conditions.
This is a strictly outpatient opportunity and does not include bone marrow transplant patient management. The role offers a structured weekday schedule with evening pager call responsibilities and a collaborative, multidisciplinary cancer care environment utilizing EPIC EMR.
The position is ideal for a locally based hematologist seeking consistent outpatient practice with defined call structure.
Start date: Upon completion of credentialing (approximately 60+ days).
Job Responsibilities
• Manage leukemia, lymphoma, and related blood cancers
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Coordinate care with oncology and specialty teams
• Monitor therapy response and manage treatment-related complications
• Participate in scheduled weeknight pager call coverage
• Respond to call-back needs as required
• Document patient encounters accurately in EPIC EMR
• Follow evidence-based clinical protocols and quality standards
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Hematology – Required
• Active Pennsylvania medical license – Required
• Pennsylvania DEA certification – Required
• BLS and ACLS certifications – Required
• Must reside within 50 miles of Pittsburgh, PA – Required
• Experience managing malignant hematology cases – Required
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills – Required
Working Hours
• Weeknight pager call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Outpatient setting only
• Credentialing timeframe: 60+ days
