The role includes a 2/8ths appointment at the VA, focused on clinical care for malignant hematology cases (Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma) with and without fellows present, taking 3 weekend calls per year, and supervision of fellows managing chemotherapy-unit clinical issues.
The successful candidate will practice within the USF Hemophilia Treatment Center, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of bleeding disorders. Opportunities exist to participate in FDA-approved gene therapy programs. The center is supported by a strong 340B program, multidisciplinary clinical staff, and an internal clinical research team.
Academic responsibilities include teaching, mentoring, and advising medical students, residents, and fellows; assessing learner performance; and contributing to institutional service through committee participation.

Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient and inpatient benign hematology clinical care, with additional malignant hematology responsibilities at the VA.
- Lead outreach and clinical initiatives focused on improving outcomes for at-risk patient populations.
- Serve as a liaison to community healthcare providers.
- Complete clinical documentation and follow-up obligations.
- Educate medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Precept medical students in ambulatory settings.
- Engage in advising, mentorship, and scholarly development.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university-wide committees.
- Contribute to faculty governance and research activities.
- MD or equivalent degree with teaching, scholarly achievement, and service record.
- Must meet criteria for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
- Board certified in Internal Medicine.
- 1–3 years of benign hematology experience.
- Academic medical center experience.
- Teaching and/or clinical research background.
- Thrombosis/hemostasis experience preferred.
- Eligible for full, unrestricted Florida medical license.
