Locums – Western Maryland Hematology/Oncology Physician Job

• Weekday inpatient rounding and weekend call coverage

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

• Friday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, followed by overnight call

• Saturday/Sunday: 24-hour call coverage, 8:00 AM–8:00 AM

• Approximately 7 shifts per month

• Maryland medical license

• License is not required to apply

• Candidates who need to obtain a Maryland license will be considered

• Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology required

• Truly Board Eligible candidates are listed as acceptable in the job order, but the requirements specifically state that the physician must be BC in Hematology & Oncology

• BLS required

• DEA required

• CSR license required

• Inpatient oncology rounding

• Hematology/oncology consults

• Weekend and overnight on-call coverage

• Respond to patient calls and treatment-related questions

• Physician works independently/solo

• Approximately 2–3 inpatient consults per day

• Approximately 2–3 inpatients per day

• Approximately 1 admission per day

• Approximately 5–6 calls per on-call shift requiring physician response

• Average of 3 admissions while on call

• 30-minute response time for calls

• Night call: 4:00 PM–8:00 AM

• Weekend call: 24 hours, 8:00 AM–8:00 AM

• Approximately 2–3 consult calls per day

• Additional patient calls may involve treatment questions or other clinical concerns

• Provider has up to 24 hours to respond to consult requests

• APP/Midlevel coverage available

• Coverage hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

• Inpatient consults are generally handled during the day when possible

• Physicians may see inpatients toward the end of the day when the schedule is full

The physician will round on oncology inpatients, manage consults, complete documentation, and provide inpatient and on-call hematology/oncology coverage.

• Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology

• Minimum 3 years of experience

• Maryland license or willingness to obtain one

• BLS certification

• DEA

• CSR

• Comfortable working independently

• Available for approximately 7 shifts per month

• Willing to provide weekday rounding and weekend/overnight call coverage
