This is a locum tenens opportunity with an established Hematology and Oncology practice at Sovah Health – Martinsville. The position offers backfilling coverage while the site conducts a long-term permanent search. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-staffed oncology team in an outpatient setting with light call responsibilities and potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.

4 shifts per week, 8-10 hours per day depending on patient volume

Outpatient clinical care for 12-15 patients per day

Light beeper-only call for established patients (2-5 calls per week, phone consults only with 1-hour response time)

Collaboration with 3 established permanent Hematology and Oncology providers

Use of Aria EMR system

Overtime paid after 40 hours per week

Board Certification: Required (Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology)

Fellowship: Required in Hematology and Oncology

License: Active Virginia license required

ABLS Certification: Required

ACLS Certification: Required

BLS Certification: Required

Hospital Privileges: Required (Temporary privileges available)

Estimated Credentialing Time: 60 days (Fast-track possible for September start date)

Facility: Sovah Health – Martinsville, a stroke-certified, non-trauma community hospital

Lodging: Apartment available

Travel Expense Caps: $300 per night lodging (includes taxes and fees), $800 roundtrip airfare, $75 per day rental car, 280 miles roundtrip for mileage reimbursement. Prior written approval from corporate required for expenses above these caps.
