Job description
We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician for a locum tenens position in Chambersburg, PA. This is an ongoing full-time locum tenens opportunity in a clinic-based practice with inpatient and emergency department consultative support. Please see below for more information.

Job Responsibilities
Manage solid tumor and hematologic cases including lung, breast, prostate, and colorectal malignancies; select blood cancers are referred out
Provide inpatient and emergency department consultation and care guidance related to hematology/oncology; daily rounding on patients is typically not required
Complete new oncology consults, new hematology consults, hospital follow-ups, pre-treatment visits, and established follow-up appointments in clinic
Direct in-clinic infusion services including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IVIG, IV iron, and non-chemotherapy injections; inpatient chemotherapy is not administered
Targeted therapies are typically onboarded at a tertiary center
Serve as supervising provider for one morning and one afternoon session each week, covering urgent patient needs for providers not in the office
Participate in tumor board
Coordinate with radiation oncology; navigator support is provided
Average of 15 patients per day with approximately 2 new patients per day; case mix is approximately two-thirds oncology and one-third hematology
Bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and BMT consults or care are not required
Qualifications
Active Pennsylvania medical license preferred; willing to license candidates and providers utilizing IMLC will be considered
Working Hours
Inpatient consults completed before or after clinic; secure chats accepted from the hospital during clinic hours
Approximately 1-2 hours per day spent rounding
No administrative time built into the schedule
Weekend call required
Night call required
Call is both inpatient and phone
