Start Date: ASAP, once credentialed
Assignment: Ongoing coverage through March 2027
Schedule: Full-time preferred; minimum 3 days/week considered

Opportunity Highlights

  • Community-based Hematology/Oncology practice with a strong support team
  • Combination of outpatient clinic, inpatient consultation, and hospital support
  • Average 15 patients/day
  • Approximately 2 new patients/day, with the remainder being treatment and follow-up visits
  • Patient mix is approximately 2/3 Oncology and 1/3 Hematology
  • Adults only
  • Epic EMR
  • No inpatient chemotherapy
  • No bone marrow biopsies or lumbar punctures required
  • Tumor board participation
  • Support from 1 NP and a virtual hematologist
  • Provider will not be working solo

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Minimum 3 days/week; full-time ongoing coverage preferred
  • Call: Approximately 1 week/month
    • Night and weekend call
    • Inpatient and phone consultations
    • Typically 0–2 calls/day
  • Inpatient consultation/rounding may require approximately 1–2 hours
  • Clinic appointments include:
    • Pre-treatment & established follow-ups
    • New Hematology consultations
    • New Oncology consultations
    • Hospital follow-ups

Clinical Scope

Physicians will see a broad range of community Hematology/Oncology cases, including:

  • Lung cancer
  • Breast cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Colorectal cancer
  • Hematologic malignancies
  • Chemotherapy and immunotherapy
  • IVIG and IV iron
  • Non-chemotherapy injections
  • Hospital/ER Hematology/Oncology consultations
  • Radiation Oncology coordination

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
  • Fellowship training required
  • Double Board Certification preferred
  • PA license preferred; IMLC candidates considered
  • Less experienced physicians may be considered
  • Candidates with Medical Oncology experience and Hematology experience may also be considered
  • Standard credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days
