Locum Tenens Hematology Oncologist

Position Type: Locum Tenens
Specialty: Physician - Hematology Oncology
Location: Oregon
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Thursday (3 days per week)
Start Date: January 1, 2027
End Date: 9–12 Months

Position Highlights:

  • 100% outpatient hematology/oncology practice with no inpatient responsibilities or call.

  • Leadership opportunity serving as the outpatient chemotherapy program provider.

  • Flexible 3-day workweek with a manageable patient volume.

Position Details:

Patient Population: Adult Hematology & Oncology

Setting: Outpatient Clinic

Facility Type: Hospital-Based Outpatient Clinic

Facility Setting: Rural

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care.

  • Serve as the outpatient chemotherapy program director/provider.

  • Evaluate new consultations and follow-up patients.

  • Perform bone marrow biopsies.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team.

Required Procedures:

  • Bone Marrow Biopsies

EMR System:

  • eClinicalWorks (ECW)

  • Meditech

Support Staff:

  • Hematology/Oncology Trained ARNP

  • Oncology Nurses

Days Per Month: Approximately 12 days per month (3 days per week).

On-Call/Weekends:

  • No call required.

  • No weekend coverage required.

Submission Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Medical Oncology or Truly Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency completion).

  • Board Certified in Hematology highly preferred.

  • Fellowship training required.

  • Active Oregon Medical License highly preferred (IMLC and providers willing to obtain licensure will be considered).

  • BLS Certification.

  • DEA Certification (required during credentialing).

  • Ability to perform Bone Marrow Biopsies.

  • Clean malpractice and background history highly preferred.
