Job description
We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician for a locum tenens position in Saint Louis, Missouri. This opportunity covers both inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic responsibilities. Please see below for more information.
Job Responsibilities
Manage solid tumor malignancies including breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, head and neck, and melanoma/other skin cancers
Treat hematologic conditions including sickle cell anemia, coagulopathies, and benign hematology
Oversee treatment regimens including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, blood transfusions, and growth factor support
Provide chemotherapy supervision and orders
Perform bone marrow biopsies and aspirations
Manage oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, spinal cord compression, and neutropenic fever
Coordinate genetic testing and counseling
Supervise advanced practice providers (APPs)
Qualifications
Active Missouri (MO) state medical license; IMLC accepted
Active DEA registration
Missouri BNDD (state controlled substance registration)
BLS and ACLS certification
Working Hours
No call required
Monday: 8:00a–12:00p clinic, rounding afterward
Tuesday: Rounding AM only (no clinic)
Wednesday: Rounding AM; 12:00p–6:00p clinic
Thursday: 8:00a–12:00p clinic, rounding afterward
Friday: 8:00a–4:00p clinic
