Job description
Medical Hematologist/Oncologist! **Outpatient Chemotherapy and Infusion Center** Oncologist provides outpatient chemotherapy and infusions and is a solo provider. There is a midlevel provider who helps with patient flow, orders, etc. Hospital consults required with call. MD can work directly with ER physician or hospitalist, for any admissions.
Start Date: ASAP Pending Credentialing (30-60 days)
Setting: Hospital
Duties: All aspects of Diagnosis, Staging, Precision Medicine, symptom management, and Treatment of Hematology/ Oncology Patients. MD oversight for both the Oncology/Hematology clinic and Infusion Services. Infusion Center requires MD onsite for all treatments. Infusion Center provides Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Blood/Platelet transfusions, Hormone therapy, Antibiotic Therapy, Rheumatoid Arthritis injections, and Therapeutic Phlebotomies.
Admissions per day: 15-20
Patients/day: 15-20
Types of cases: Oncology/Hematology, All tumor types
EMR: iKnowmed (Clinic) and Cerner (Infusion)
Support Staff: 1- clinic RN, 2-MAs, 2-front office clerks, 1-quality analyst/billing, and 10 infusions RNs.
Reason for Coverage: Shortage of providers
Requirements
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology
- CA Licensure
