Locums – Ephrata, Pennsylvania | Hematology/Oncology Opportunity
Clinical Role Join a well-supported hematology/oncology program in a rural community setting, providing full-time outpatient care with shared call responsibilities. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of clinic and hospital support with strong APP coverage and access to on-site infusion and radiation oncology services.
Start Date: June 30, 2026 Assignment Length: Ongoing (minimum 6-month commitment)
Position Highlights:

Full-time, stable locum assignment with established patient panel

Strong support with 3 APPs and on-site pharmacist

Balanced hematology/oncology case mix (60% hem / 40% onc)

On-site infusion center and radiation oncology services

Participation in system-wide tumor boards
Schedule & Coverage
-
Clinic: 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts
-
Typical clinic day: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (last patient ~3:30 PM)

Lunch: 30 minutes
-
Call Rotation: 1:2
-
Weekends: 2 per month (24-hour call)
-
Night Call: ~10 days/month (4:15 PM – 8:00 AM)

Weekend rounding: ~2 hours (gratis)

Full-time coverage required
Clinical Details & Responsibilities Setting: Clinic and hospital Patient Population: Adults only Patients per day: ~15 Case Mix: 60% hematology / 40% oncology
Responsibilities Include:

Managing outpatient hematology and oncology patients
-
Evaluating and treating solid tumors and benign/malignant hematologic conditions
-
Providing inpatient consultative support during call rotations
-
Collaborating with hospital teams (admissions handled by hospitalists)

Participating in tumor boards (disease-specific and general)
-
Coordinating care with radiation oncology (on-site)
Call Expectations:
-
Evening call: ~2–3 calls typically between 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Limited overnight disruptions

Weekend call includes hospital/ER consult availability
Infusion & Treatment

14-chair infusion center with additional private rooms

Oncology-certified nursing staff
-
Community infusion center on site

Infusions not handled directly in clinic workflow

Bone marrow biopsies: Not required

Lumbar punctures: Not required

Port access: Not required

BMT consults/care: Not required

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology – Required

Active Pennsylvania License – Required
