Coverage Needed:
- Start Date: May 25, 2026
- End Date: Ongoing
- Preferred Schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday
- Occasional night and weekend call included
- 2 weeks per month (consecutive preferred)
- Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call
- Open Dates:
- 5/25 (8a-4p) Orientation, 5/26(8a)-6/6(8a)
- Ongoing assignments
Clinical Details:
- Trauma Level: 2
- Patient Load: 10-15 patients per day
- Call: Beeper for assigned patients with 15min response time required
- Phone Consults: 0-5
- 1:2 ratio, few calls, phone-based
- EMR: Athena and Cerner
- Support Staff: 13 RNs, 3 APPs, Genetic counselor available onsite, 2 navigators (breast/colon and lung cancer patients), 2 pharmacist, 1 pharm tech, 1 lab tech with lab draws in office, 1 office manager, 1 clinical director (shared with radiation oncology), 1 social worker, 2 financial counselors, 13 clerical staff, 1 program director (shared with rad/onc, tumor registry, and research), 1 care manager
- Resident or Teaching Supervision Required
- Rounding of inpatients that are current patient of the practice is typically done by the APP’s
- Practice Settings: Outpatient, Inpatient
- 95% outpatient and 5% inpatient mix
- Weekly tumor board
- Strong primary care
- Tumor registry with 2 CTR’s; Research department with 1 dedicated research associate for oncology
- Each provider is assigned to three rooms
- Patients are roomed by an RN and comprehensive assessments are performed
- A Triage nurse handles all incoming clinical calls
- Patients are generally booked at 60 minute new patient consults, 30 minute follow ups
- Patients are admitted by the hospitalist group and oncology is consulted as needed
- Practice is 99% outpatient and no inductions are completed at the facility
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology
- Licensed in Michigan
- Fellowship Preferred
- ACLS and BLS Certifications
