Job description
Seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician for an outpatient clinic + infusion center role in a hospital-based setting in California. This is an on-site assignment supporting a community need due to provider shortage.
You’ll provide comprehensive hem/onc care including diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, precision medicine, symptom management, and oversight of infusion services. The infusion center requires physician on-site presence for treatments. Hospital consults/call are also part of the coverage model, with collaboration alongside the ER physician or hospitalist for admissions.
Job Responsibilities
• Patient volume: Approx. 15–20 patients/day
• Case mix: Hematology/Oncology; all tumor types
• Infusion services include: chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood/platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotics, RA injections, therapeutic phlebotomy
• Support model: Solo physician with APP support + established nursing/clinic staff
Qualifications
• Heme/Onc Fellowship (required)
• Active California medical license (required)
• DEA (required)
• ACLS required only if requesting moderate sedation privileges
Working Hours
• Coverage needed ASAP with ongoing dates available
Skills
• Experience with Chemotherapy and Infusion Therapy Procedures
• Strong knowledge of cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment protocols
• Ability to manage outpatient hematology/oncology cases independently
• Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and hospital staff
