Job description
We are seeking a Locum Hematologist Oncologist to join their team. This role involves providing high-quality outpatient care with minimal inpatient consults, supported by a robust nursing and ancillary team.
-Schedule: 08:00 – 16:30; Monday – Thursday (approximately 16 shifts per month).
-Location: Waterloo, IA.
-Team: Two Advanced Practice Providers (no supervision required) and a 2:1 nurse-to-provider ratio.
-Charting: EPIC EMR with onsite lab, pharmacy, and medical imaging.
- Travel Reimbursement: Flights, Lodging, Rental Car, Mileage: IRS Standard Rate.
Job Responsibilities
-Oversee the administration of antineoplastics in the clinic.
-Manage a clinic volume of 16–20 patients daily.
-Field phone calls from hospitalists (0–2 average daily hospital practice census).
-Perform services including phlebotomies, IV IgG, iron therapy, and bone marrow biopsies.
Qualifications
-Fellowship: Must be Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology.
-Licensure: Active Iowa License or active IMLC (Letter of Qualification required).
-Credentialing: Clean malpractice/background; must provide a recent Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days).
-Experience: Experienced providers highly preferred, but new grads will be reviewed.
Working Hours
-On-Call: One week and one weekend per month (Phone calls only).
-Availability: Must be available full-time for the Mon–Thurs schedule.
Skills
-Strong communication skills for fielding hospitalist phone consults.
-Ability to work efficiently in an EPIC-based outpatient environment.
