Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician (Outpatient) — Cooperstown, NY

Opportunity

We’re seeking one locum Hematology/Oncology Physician (MD/DO) for an outpatient-only assignment in Cooperstown, New York. This is an ongoing need while the client recruits a permanent provider. You’ll join a supportive clinical team with manageable volumes and a flexible schedule.

• April 6, 2026

Assignment Length

• Ongoing / until permanent hire

Schedule

• 3 days per week (full-time equivalent)
• Flexible scheduling
• No call coverage

Setting

• Outpatient clinic

Scope of Work

• Outpatient Hematology & Oncology care
• Mix of benign and malignant hematology cases
• Oncology-heavy practice

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage hematology/oncology patients in an outpatient setting
• Coordinate care with onsite NP and nursing/clinical support staff
• Bone marrow procedures a plus (many handled by Interventional Radiology)

Volume & Support

• 12–15 patients/day (varies by case mix)
• Case mix: ~80% Oncology / ~20% Hematology
• Team includes:
  • 1 MD
  • 1 onsite NP
  • Additional nursing/clinical support

EMR

• Epic

Requirements

• Active New York medical license (required)
• Active New York DEA
• Board Certification required
• Immunization records required
• Flu vaccine or signed declination
• Negative TB test or QuantiFERON Gold within 1 year of start
• Telehealth experience: Not required

Travel

• Travel support provided, including:
  • Round-trip airfare (economy; standard baggage fees included)
  • Rental car/fuel and/or mileage
  • Lodging (must be reasonable and aligned with market standards)

Credentialing

• ~120 days
• No temporary privileges — full credentialing required
