A healthcare organization is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide locum coverage in a well-established oncology program. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic care and inpatient consults, working alongside a strong multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional cancer care.

✨ Position Highlights

🔹 3–4 clinic days per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
🔹 6–12 month assignment with potential extension
🔹 Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient consults
🔹 Work with an experienced team of physicians and APPs
🔹 Light call schedule with infrequent nights and weekends

🏥 Practice Setting

✔ Hybrid role: Outpatient oncology clinic + inpatient consults
✔ Adult and geriatric patient population
✔ Collaborative team including 10 physicians and 8 APPs
✔ EMR: Epic
✔ High-quality clinical environment with strong support staff

👩‍⚕️ Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide hematology and oncology evaluations and treatment planning
• Manage outpatient oncology clinic patients
• Conduct inpatient hematology/oncology consults
• Develop and monitor personalized cancer treatment plans
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and support staff
• Participate in limited night and weekend call coverage

📊 Patient Volume

👥 Hospital: ~10 patients per day
👥 Outpatient Clinic: ~15 patients per day

📌 Case Mix:
• 80% Hematology
• 20% Oncology

📅 Assignment Details

🗓 Start: As soon as credentialed
📆 Assignment Length: 6 months – 1 year, with potential extension

📞 Call Schedule:
• Nights: approximately 1:10 rotation
• Weekends: 2–3 weekends per year

📌 Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
📌 Active Connecticut medical license (required at submission)
📌 NPDB Self-Query report within the last 30 days
