Job Description:
- Seeking skilled physicians seeking a fulfilling career with a commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care. These positions are hospital-employed.
- These jobs are open due to increased volume and the departure of a physician.
- Full-scope Medical Oncology and Hematology care.
- Approximately 20% inpatient, 80% outpatient
- Approximately 30% Hematology, 70% Solid Tumor
- Current patient census: outpatient is about 25 patients per clinic; inpatient volume varies but averages 5-10 patients
- Practice has 3 full-time Medical Oncologists (see both Hematology and solid tumors) providers and 1 full-time Hematologist (sees only Hematology, benign and malignant). Current group of providers are a very cohesive unit and does not have much, if any, turnover. Outstanding mentors are available to those coming out of training.
- Peer-to-peer relationship with MD Andersen, a curbside consult type of relationship
- Support staff: Each physician has a dedicated medical assistant and clinic RN, plus 2 inpatient NPs who cover the group.
- Our physician practices reside within a multidisciplinary cancer care center in Saginaw, MI. However, there are some satellite clinics that also need support - some occasional travel to these locations may be required.
- Academic affiliation: There is the potential due to the proximity to medical students and residents. We are a teaching and training institution for Central Michigan University's College of Medicine.
- Working on a current partnership to make research more robust.
- Our center, on average, ranks in the top 10% nationally for patient experience.
- Provides our patients with a “one stop shop” where all the cancer related services, labs, imaging, etc., can be found under one roof and easily accessible.
- Established group with a strong reputation and a dedicated commitment to the community. Fully staffed clinic with newly remodeled offices and waiting rooms. Shared call schedule with a dedicated inpatient floor at the hospital, just minutes away from the cancer care center and clinic. Inpatient and outpatient APP support.
- Cancer Care Center: Our 26-bed inpatient unit serves as the primary facility for hematology/oncology services. It provides a comprehensive and patient-centric approach to cancer care.
- Infusion Radiation: We utilize the latest technology and advances in our field, including the Elekta Versa HD Linear Accelerator with cloud-based Brainlab/Exactrac (allowing us to target individual brain lesions and preserve healthy tissue). We’re also the only center in the region to offer Xofigo®, an injection used to treat bone metastasis in prostate cancer patients. We have also incorporated Brachytherapy – Flexitron machine that specializes in treating cancer using a radioactive source.
- Infusion Therapy Center: Our outpatient facility is dedicated to providing chemotherapy, infusion therapy, injections, and blood products. It ensures a comfortable and supportive environment for patients undergoing outpatient treatments.

Submission Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (0-5 years of residency) in Hematology - [REQUIRED]
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (0-5 years of residency) in Medical Oncology - [REQUIRED]
- MI license (or willing to obtain) - [REQUIRED]
- DEA (must be obtained prior to start) - [REQUIRED] * no exemptions
- CSR/CDS (must be obtained prior to start) - [REQUIRED] * no exemptions
- Copy of most recent NPDB Report (within 30 to 60 days active) - [REQUIRED] * no exemptions
Compensation and Benefits:
- Excellent compensation package based on MGMA standards, training, and experience. Compensation is data driven, and physicians work under a RVU model but also have a guaranteed salary in the first 2 years. Referrals are split and shared among the group as they come in, not identified. To be discussed at interview.
