We are seeking a Locum Hematology Oncology Physician for an established, patient-centered oncology practice in Waterloo. We are seeking a Locum Hematology Oncology Physician for an established, patient-centered oncology practice in Waterloo. This is a well-supported role offering a balanced mix of outpatient-focused care with minimal inpatient responsibilities, modern resources, and a collaborative care team. Job Responsibilities
• Provide hematology and medical oncology consultations and follow-up care
• Oversee administration of antineoplastic therapies in the clinic
• Collaborate with hospitalists for infrequent inpatient consults (mostly phone-based)
• Participate in teaching opportunities as available
• Utilize EPIC EMR for clinical documentation
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
• Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology
• Active Iowa license or IMLC eligibility
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Comfortable managing a full outpatient schedule
Working Hours
• Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 16 shifts per month
• On-call: One week and one weekend per month (phone calls only)
Skills
• Strong clinical judgment in hematology and oncology
• Excellent patient communication and care coordination
• Ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
