JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Physician
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Minneapolis, MN
• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
• Coverage Period: ASAP – 6 months (Potential Extension; Option to Transition to Permanent)
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• On-Call Shift Schedule: Weeknight and Weekend Call Coverage Required
• Call Type: In-House and Beeper as Assigned
COVERAGE DATES
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: 6 months with possible extensions
• FTE Preferred: Minimum 2 weeks per month; Full-time coverage preferred
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adult Hematology and Oncology patients
• Patient Volume/Census: 30–40 shared daily census; 20–23 patients per provider per day
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Included for inpatient service
• Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate
• Case Mix: Malignant Hematology required; Medical Oncology (solid tumors) and Infusion Coverage required
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 590-bed primary facility
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped inpatient oncology and infusion services
• Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary oncology and hematology teams
• Support Staff Available: APP support during weekday inpatient coverage; No APP support for call or weekends
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage need with long-term potential
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: Emergency privileges available with MN license and clean background
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days with active MN license; 120 days if not licensed
• Fingerprinting: Required; results must post prior to privileges being granted

• Inpatient malignant hematology management
• Medical oncology management for solid tumors
• Infusion coverage and chemotherapy oversight
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active MN license required for quick start; IMLC accepted
• Board: Triple Board Certification Required – Internal Medicine + Hematology + Oncology
• DEA: Active DEA required
• Certifications: BLS required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Hematology/Oncology experience
• Other Qualifications: Ability to provide inpatient coverage and take call independently
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide comprehensive inpatient hematology and oncology coverage
• Manage malignant hematology cases and solid tumor oncology patients
• Provide infusion center oversight and chemotherapy management
• Participate in scheduled call coverage including nights and weekends
• Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Float between assigned Allina Health facilities as scheduled
