Locum-to-Perm Hematologist/Oncologist – Des Moines, IA
Seeking a Locum-to-Perm Hematologist/Oncologist to provide coverage at twp facilities.
Schedule

2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

4–5 clinic days per week
-
Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
-
6 patient contact hours per day
-
Call required (schedule TBD)
-
No designated OR/procedure days
Practice Details
-
Inpatient coverage at both locations
-
Telehealth may be included in addition to inpatient responsibilities
-
Clinic volume: 10–30 patients per day
-
Average daily hospital census: 10–15
-
Consults: 40 minutes | Follow-ups: 20 minutes

1:1 nursing support
-
No APP supervision required
-
On-site imaging, lab, and pharmacy services
-
EMR: EPIC
Scope of Services
-
New patient evaluations
-
Development and management of treatment plans
-
Chemotherapy management
-
Pain management
-
End-of-life care
-
Referrals for ancillary services
(Radiation and surgical oncology services supported by established providers.)
Patient Population
-
Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial (primary clinic)
-
Commercial and Medicare (secondary clinical)
Requirements
-
Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology
-
Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology
-
Active Iowa license or IMLC required
-
Clean malpractice/background (recent NPDB self-query required)
-
Must be willing to cover both MercyOne locations
-
Experienced providers only
Travel reimbursement provided per client guidelines.
