Job description
Locum Hematologist/Oncologist – Des Moines, IA
Seeking a Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist for locum tenens coverage.
Schedule

2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

4–5 clinic days per week

Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
-
Call required (schedule TBD)
-
No scheduled OR/procedure days
Practice Details

Inpatient coverage at both facilities
-
Telehealth responsibilities may be included
-
Daily clinic volume: 10–30 patients
-
Average hospital census: 10–15
-
Consults: 40 minutes | Follow-ups: 20 minutes

1:1 nursing support
-
No APP supervision required
-
EMR: EPIC
-
Medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services available
Services Provided
-
New patient assessments
-
Development and management of treatment plans
-
Chemotherapy management
-
Pain management
-
End-of-life care
-
Referrals for ancillary services
(Radiation and surgical oncology services supported by existing providers.)
Patient Population
-
Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial (primary clinic)
-
Commercial and Medicare (secondary clinical)
Requirements
-
Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology
-
Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology
-
Active Iowa license or IMLC (LOQ required at name clear)
-
Clean malpractice/background (NPDB self-query required within 30 days)
-
Must be willing to provide coverage at both locations
