Job Title: Locum to Perm - Physician - Hematology Oncology
Join our esteemed healthcare facilities located in Des Moines, Iowa! We are seeking a dedicated Hematologist Oncologist for a Locum-to-Perm position to cover both MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Centers. This role offers the perfect blend of inpatient responsibilities and telehealth opportunities, ideally suited for a professional looking to make a significant impact in patient care. The schedule will be structured as 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, providing a great work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical hematology and oncology coverage for 4-5 days per week.
- Handle inpatient responsibilities across both facilities.
- Engage in telehealth as part of service offerings.
- Conduct detailed patient assessments and develop new treatment plans.
- Manage ongoing treatment plans and make necessary therapy changes.
- Oversee chemotherapy and pain management protocols.
- Participate in referral processes for ancillary services and end-of-life care.
- Document and manage patient encounters using EPIC EMR system.
- Maintain a daily patient volume of 10-30 in clinic settings.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology - [REQUIRED]
- Active Iowa License or Active IMLC - [REQUIRED]
- Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology - [REQUIRED]
- Demonstrated experience in Hematology and Oncology - [REQUIRED]
- Willingness to work at both MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines - [REQUIRED]
- Clean malpractice record and background check - [REQUIRED]
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC.
- Board certification in Hematology and Oncology.
