Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology

Join a vibrant healthcare community in Des Moines, Iowa! This practice offers comprehensive hematology and oncology services across two prominent facilities. You will have the opportunity to deliver care to a diverse patient population with the support of an efficient nursing team and a robust medical infrastructure, including imaging and laboratory services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide medical hematology/oncology coverage for 4-5 days per week.
• Conduct patient assessments, develop new and ongoing treatment plans, and manage changes in therapy.
• Engage in end-of-life care and chemotherapy management.
• Deliver patient consultations and follow-up appointments, averaging 10-30 patients daily in the clinic.
• Participate in telehealth services when needed.
• Collaborate with a nursing support team in a 1:1 ratio.
• Manage inpatient responsibilities at both MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines.
• Maintain documentation and patient records using the EPIC EMR system.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology (Required)
• Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (Required)
• Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology (Required)
• Must possess relevant experience in the field (Required)
• Willingness to work at both MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines (Required)
• Clean malpractice and background check (Required)

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility.
• Board certification in Hematology and Oncology.
