We are actively recruiting a Board-Certified Hematologist (Malignant Hematology focus) for a locums opportunity at a well-established cancer program in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania.
Practice site: AHN Cancer Institute
This coverage need is due to permanent recruitment following a provider departure.
π Assignment Overview

Specialty: Malignant Hematology (Leukemia/Lymphoma focus)

FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week, 4 weeks/month)

Minimum commitment: 2 weeks/month (consecutive or alternating)

Start: Late April / Early May

Length: Minimum 6 months

π Schedule

Monday β Friday
-
8:00 AM β 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

All clinic duties + charting must be completed during shift
-
Overtime requires prior approval
βοΈ Call Responsibilities

Weeknight pager call: 5:00 PM β 8:00 AM (MonβThurs only)

Fellows take primary overnight call (physician is 2nd call if needed)

No weekend call

Leukemia & Lymphoma

Malignant Hematology cases

No bone marrow transplant patients
-
APPs perform all bone marrow biopsies

No additional procedures required
Patient Volume:

15β20 patients/day
-
New consults: 45 minutes
-
Follow-ups: 20 minutes
Support Team:

4 MDs

Advanced Practice Providers

RNs and MAs
β Requirements

Board Certified β Hematology (Required)

BLS & ACLS
-
Active Pennsylvania medical license (strongly preferred)

PA DEA license
-
IMLC candidates accepted (but PA license preferred)

Background checks required during privileging:

Act 33 β Child Abuse Registry

Act 34 β PA State Police Check

Act 73 β FBI Background Check
