Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join their outpatient cancer center team on a locum tenens basis. This is an ongoing opportunity with a consistent monthly schedule and strong clinical support.
Coverage Details:
Start: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Minimum Commitment: 2 weeks per month (required)
Practice Setting:
Setting: Outpatient – Free-standing cancer center
EMR: Epic
Trauma Level: III
Reason for Coverage: Physician retirement/relocation
Clinical Responsibilities:
Function as a member of the clinical patient care team
Perform tasks and procedures consistent with training and licensure as a medical oncologist/hematologist
Focus primarily on solid tumor oncology with limited benign hematology
Patient Demographics:
80% Oncology
20% Hematology
Most benign hematology cases are referred out
Average Volume:
Outpatient: 10–15 patients per day
Inpatient: Only when admitted for chemotherapy
Team & Support:
3 Physicians currently in practice
2 Advanced Practice Providers
Radiation Oncologists available during coverage
Schedule & Call:
4–5 days per week
8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Optional admin day or half-day if needed
Call: 1:4 rotation
7 days of call including one weekend
Night call
Weekend call (24 hours)
Call-back opportunities
Requirements:
Board Certified in both Hematology and Oncology
Active Oregon license (Preferred; willing to consider providers needing to obtain)
