LOCUM Hematology Oncology Physician – Waterloo, Iowa

365 Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide outpatient-focused coverage in Waterloo, Iowa. This opportunity offers a predictable four-day clinic schedule with light, phone-only call responsibilities and minimal inpatient burden.

This assignment provides competitive hourly compensation, A-rated malpractice coverage, and full travel coordination through 365 Healthcare.

Schedule Overview

• Monday–Thursday clinic schedule
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 16 shifts per month
• One weeknight call + one weekend per month
• Call is phone-only

Practice Overview

• Outpatient Hematology/Oncology practice
• Inpatient consults are rare (0–2 average daily census)
• Hospitalists admit all patients
• Physicians primarily field phone calls from hospitalists
• 2 Advanced Practice Providers
• Strong nursing support (2 nurses per provider + triage/referral team)
• Onsite ancillary services: lab, social worker, dietician, referral team
• 4 exam rooms
• Clinic volume: 16–20 patients per day
• Adult patient population (18+)
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

• New consults and follow-up care
• Oversee administration of antineoplastics
• Bone marrow biopsies
• IV IgG, iron therapy, phlebotomies
• Treatment planning and ongoing therapy management

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology – REQUIRED
• Fellowship Trained – REQUIRED
• Active Iowa License or IMLC – REQUIRED
• Full-time availability Monday–Thursday – REQUIRED
• Ability to perform bone marrow biopsies – REQUIRED
• Clean malpractice & background
• NPDB Self-Query (within current month) – REQUIRED
