Key Responsibilities include functioning as a vital member of the clinical team, performing hematology and oncology procedures aligned with your training and licensure, and delivering timely diagnoses and treatments in an outpatient setting. You will utilize Epic EMR to ensure seamless patient documentation and care coordination. This role is critical in managing outpatient care with some inpatient rounding during admissions, supporting a vibrant practice that focuses primarily on solid tumor diagnoses and hematology referrals.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in hematology and oncology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.

Required Skills:
  • Medical degree and valid medical license with appropriate credentials in Hematology and Oncology
  • Proven experience in outpatient cancer care
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR system
  • Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills
  • Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience working in a stand-alone cancer center
  • Familiarity with inpatient oncology procedures
  • Additional certifications in oncology or hematology
  • Experience with on-call responsibilities and emergency protocols

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology and Oncology
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting
  • Prior locum or temp assignment experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 2 weeks per month, with flexible scheduling
  • Availability for 4-5 day workweeks, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm shifts
  • Participation in a 1:4 call rotation, including weekends
  • Credentialing estimated to take 6-8 weeks
  • Successful completion of EPIC EMR training, including 4 hours of unpaid orientation
  • Must hold valid licensure, certifications, and be eligible for licensure extension
  • Travel and lodging arrangements will be coordinated and reimbursed
