A locum tenens opportunity is available for a qualified Hematologist Oncologist at a medical center in Waterloo, IA. This role involves both outpatient clinic and inpatient responsibilities, with a flexible schedule and supportive work environment. The position requires handling consults, follow-up care, and overseeing the administration of antineoplastics.

Key Details - Assignment Type: Locum Tenens - Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Inpatient - Start Date: ASAP - Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with potential on-call duties one week and one weekend per month (phone calls only) - Patient Population: Adult (18 years and older) - Location: Waterloo, IA - Stipends: Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates

Job Responsibilities - Conduct consults and follow-up care - Oversee administration of antineoplastics in the clinic - Field phone calls from hospitalists for inpatient cases - Work collaboratively with a team of nurses, APPs, reception, lab, social workers, and dieticians - No telehealth or outreach responsibilities

Qualifications - Board Certified in Hematology Oncology - Active IA License or Active IMLC - Fellowship Trained in Hematology Oncology - Available full-time (Monday–Thursday) - Experience preferred, but new graduates may be considered - Clean malpractice/background record

Working Hours - Clinic: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM - On-call: One week and one weekend per month (phone calls only) - No weekend in-clinic duties except on-call responsibilities

Skills - Proficiency in EPIC EMR system - Strong communication and consultation skills - Ability to manage patient care in collaboration with ancillary staff - Adaptability to varying appointment lengths and patient volumes
