🔎 Position Overview

• Specialty: Hematology & Oncology

• Position Type: Locum-to-Perm

• Schedule: 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off (with call)

• Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Patient Contact Hours: 6 per day

• EMR: Epic

• Coverage Sites: Two medical centers in Des Moines (required)

• Outreach: Potential outreach to Newton, IA (~6 days/month)

• Telehealth: May be included

🏥 Clinical Responsibilities

• Medical Hematology & Oncology coverage (4–5 clinic days/week)

• Inpatient coverage at both locations

• New consults (40 mins) & follow-ups (20 mins)

• Develop and manage treatment plans

• Chemotherapy management

• Pain management coordination

• End-of-life care discussions

• Referral coordination for ancillary services

📊 Volume

• Clinic: 10–30 patients per day

• Inpatient Census: 10–15 patients

• Dedicated 1:1 nursing support

📅 Call & Coverage

• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

• Call required (schedule TBD)

• Weekend coverage as needed

✅ Required Qualifications

• 🏅 Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology

• 🎓 Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology

• 📜 Active Iowa License or IMLC (LOQ required at name clear)

• 🧾 Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days)

• ⚖️ Clean malpractice & background history

• Must be willing to cover both Des Moines locations
