- Other details: The facility which is stroke-certified and trauma level 2 is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and beeper call if needed. There are an average of 15 patients per shift and 1 bed in the department. We are seeking a locum tenens oncology and hematology provider for coverage Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with call coverage 2-3 days each week and a weekend call rotation occurring once every ten weeks. The provider will take equal calls with the other physicians, including one weekday every 9 days and one weekend every 9 weekends. Call is after hours for 24 hours, with a nurse on call until 2 a.m. to help reduce the number of calls. The responsibilities will include examining patients under treatment, administering treatments, creating supportive care plans, monitoring patients, conducting new patient consults for hematologic and oncologic referrals, communicating with patients, coordinating with other healthcare professionals, performing hospital rounds, and maintaining detailed medical records. The provider will be part of a multidisciplinary team and have access to the latest cancer treatment advancements, clinical trials, genetic testing, psycho-social support, and survivorship care.

Job Responsibilities
* Develop and manage supportive care plans and symptom management
* Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
* Conduct new patient consults for hematologic and oncologic referrals
* Communicate effectively with patients and their families
* Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including specialists
* Perform hospital rounds and provide inpatient care as needed
* Take call coverage 2-3 days per week and participate in a weekend call rotation
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
* Participate in a multidisciplinary team approach for patient care
Qualifications
* Active medical license in the applicable state
* Experience in oncology and hematology patient care
* Ability to manage complex cases and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
* Strong communication and patient management skills
Working Hours
* Call coverage required 2-3 days each week, including one weekday every 9 days and one weekend every 9 weekends
* 24-hour after-hours call with nurse support until 2 a.m.
Skills
