Locum-to-Perm Hematologist/Oncologist Opportunity – Des Moines, Iowa
Seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum-to-permanent opportunity providing outpatient and inpatient coverage across both facilities. The position involves working approximately 4–5 days per week with clinic hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and approximately six hours of daily patient contact time. Call responsibilities are required, with the specific schedule to be determined.
Responsibilities include comprehensive hematology and oncology patient care, including new patient evaluations, treatment planning, ongoing therapy management, chemotherapy oversight, symptom management, and end-of-life care. Providers will cover inpatient consults and rounding at both hospital locations and may participate in outreach services in Newton, Iowa approximately six days per month. Telehealth services are also available. The practice is supported by 1:1 nursing support along with onsite imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services. The average clinic volume ranges from 10–30 patients per day, with an inpatient census averaging 10–15 patients. The facility utilizes EPIC as its EMR system.
