Schedule: M-F 8a-5p
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Medical Hematologist/Oncologist to provide care in a hospital-based outpatient chemotherapy and infusion center. The physician will serve as a solo provider, supported by a midlevel provider to assist with patient flow, orders, and care coordination. Responsibilities include delivering outpatient chemotherapy and infusion services, managing hospital consults, and providing call coverage. The physician will collaborate closely with ER physicians and hospitalists for patient admissions when needed.
Duties:
- Diagnose, stage, and treat hematology/oncology patients
- Provide precision medicine and symptom management
- Oversee Oncology/Hematology Clinic and Infusion Center
- MD must be onsite for all infusion treatments
Infusion Services Include:
- Chemotherapy and immunotherapy
- Blood and platelet transfusions
- Hormone therapy
- Antibiotic therapy
- Rheumatoid arthritis injections
- Therapeutic phlebotomies
EMR Systems:
- iKnowMed (Clinic)
- Cerner (Infusion Center)
Support Staff:
- 1 Clinic RN
- 2 Medical Assistants
- 2 Front office staff
- 1 Quality analyst/billing staff
- 10 Infusion RNs
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Oncology or Hematology (Required)
- Active California License (Required)
- Fellowship Trained (Required)
- Active DEA (Required)
- ACLS required only if moderate sedation privileges are requested
- PALS required for pediatric patients (if applicable)
