We are seeking a Board-Certified Hematology Oncology Physician for a locum tenens outpatient opportunity in Plymouth, Indiana, with additional coverage at a nearby satellite clinic. This assignment supports the launch of a new oncology service line and focuses on outpatient hematology and medical oncology care, including infusion services.
This role offers a predictable weekday schedule, a well-established EPIC EMR environment, and a collaborative multidisciplinary oncology team. The physician will provide care to adult and geriatric patients, with a balanced mix of hematology and oncology cases. Evening call coverage is limited and shared.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage infusion clinic coverage across two outpatient locations
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and geriatric oncology patients
• Prescribe and oversee chemotherapy and infusion therapies
• Perform bone marrow biopsies
• Manage venous access devices and central venous catheters
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings
• Oversee aspects of bone marrow transplant management
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory studies
• Coordinate care with oncology nursing and infusion staff
• Document patient encounters accurately using EPIC EMR
Qualifications
• Demonstrated competency in both hematology and oncology
• Active Indiana medical license or IMLC with Letter of Qualification
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience in outpatient oncology and infusion clinic settings
• Ability to manage chemotherapy administration workflows
• Clean professional and credentialing history
Working Hours
• Day shifts (approximately 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Outpatient clinic schedule
• No weekends
• Limited evening call coverage
