Job description Locums Hematology/Oncology – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (IMLC Welcome) Opportunity Overview

This Hematology/Oncology locums opportunity in Oklahoma City offers ongoing coverage within a comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer program. The facility emphasizes continuity of care and prefers a single physician to manage the assignment. Providers will work in a state-of-the-art cancer center with extensive onsite resources and support services.

Assignment Details
  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Duration: Ongoing

  • Clinic Schedule:

    • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Call Requirements
  • Weekday Call:

    • One weekday every 9 days

  • Weekend Call:

    • One weekend every 9 weekends

  • Call Coverage:

    • After-hours 24-hour call

    • Nurse takes first call until 2:00 AM, significantly reducing call volume

  • Call Expectation:

    • Must take equal call rotation with existing group

    • 15-minute call response time required

Patient Volume & Facility Details
  • Patients Per Shift: ~15

  • Beds in Facility: 1

  • Patient Types: Assigned and unassigned patients

  • Hospital Certification: Stroke Certified

  • Trauma Level: II

Clinical Responsibilities

The provider will be responsible for comprehensive Hematology and Oncology care, including but not limited to:

  • Patient examinations (active treatment patients)

  • Treatment administration oversight

  • Supportive care planning and symptom management

  • Patient monitoring

  • New patient hematology and oncology consults

  • Hospital rounds

  • Call coverage

  • Patient communication and education

  • Coordination with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Accurate and timely medical documentation

  • Psycho-social support and survivorship care programs

  • Genetic testing, early detection, and genetic counseling services

  • Nurse navigators to support patients through diagnosis and treatment

  • Multidisciplinary collaboration including:

    • Radiation Oncology

    • Surgical Oncology

    • Breast Oncology

    • Gynecologic Oncology

    • Colorectal Surgery

  • Oncology infusion center located within the same facility, steps from clinic space

  • Oncology nurses specially trained and licensed in oncology care

Practice Setting
  • Hospital-based cancer center

  • EMR: Epic

Candidate Requirements (Required)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology

  • Active Oklahoma medical license — IMLC welcome

  • ACLS, ATLS, BLS

  • Fellowship — Preferred
