Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology in Pontiac, MI
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Hematology-Oncology Physician to fill a vital locum position, providing essential outpatient care during a crucial recruitment period. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical setting. As a key member of the team, you will contribute your expertise to support ongoing patient needs and ensure seamless continuity of care.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one promptly
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
- Proven experience in outpatient hematology and oncology care
- Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Cerner
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience participating in tumor board discussions
- Knowledge of infusion center operations
- Prior experience with outpatient clinic procedures
- Familiarity with the oncology support team dynamics
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Hematology and Oncology
- Prior locum or temporary coverage experience in a hospital or outpatient setting
Other Requirements:
- Coverage Dates: Start on 01/19/2026 and end on 07/31/2026
- Schedule: Outpatient clinic coverage on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- On-Call: Clinic call as needed
- Patient Volume: Approximately 15-20 outpatient visits per day
- Compensation: Competitive hourly pay rate (please inquire for details)
- Additional perks include weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive W-2 medical benefits, referral bonuses, licensure and travel reimbursements, and paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws
- Reimbursement for car, fuel, mileage, and hotel accommodation, capped at $150, with refueling required before vehicle return
