- Other details: The facility which is stroke-certified is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and beeper call if needed. There are an average of 12-15 patients per shift. Seeking a locum Hematology Oncology provider for full-time coverage, ideally working five shifts per week for four weeks per month, with guaranteed eight-hour workdays including a one-hour lunch and overtime applying after eight hours per day with prior approval. Call is typically one week out of every three, during which the provider will work regular clinic hours and take weekday evening phone-only call, as well as 24-hour phone-only call on weekends, with no onsite callbacks required. Patients are generally scheduled from 9am–12pm and 1pm–4:30pm. Full-time candidates will be prioritized, though two-week on/two-week off availability may be considered if needed. Candidates must hold an active California license or be willing to obtain one, have a clean file to allow timely credentialing, demonstrate at least two years of recent hospital-based clinical activity in the specialty with no unexplained gaps over three months, and possess two years of recent inpatient experience to qualify for privileges in a program that manages approximately 500 analytic oncology cases annually.

Job Responsibilities
* Manage and follow patients receiving chemotherapy and cancer-related treatments.
* Participate in care coordination with hospital and infusion center teams.
* Respond to patient and staff phone calls during scheduled call coverage.
* Review labs, imaging, and treatment plans in a timely manner.
* Document all patient encounters accurately and completely in the EMR.
* Participate in quality and accreditation standards for oncology care programs.
Qualifications
* Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Hematology and Oncology.
* Active California medical license or willingness to obtain one.
* Minimum of two years of recent hospital-based clinical activity in the specialty.
* Two years of recent inpatient oncology experience to qualify for privileges.
* Clean credentialing file with no unexplained gaps over three months.
* Ability to meet privileging and credentialing timelines.
Working Hours
* Clinic hours with patients scheduled 9am–12pm and 1pm–4:30pm.
* One-hour lunch break daily.
* Guaranteed eight hours per day.
* Overtime applies after eight hours per day with prior approval.
* Call rotation of one week out of every three.
* Weekday evening phone-only call.
* Weekend 24-hour phone-only call with no onsite callback.
