🩺🌟 Medical Oncologist – Outpatient Role
📍 Grand Rapids, MI

We are seeking a Medical Oncologist to join a dynamic outpatient cancer center in Grand Rapids, MI. This is an excellent opportunity to provide expert care to adult and geriatric patients, focusing primarily on lung cancer while supporting general hematology/oncology needs.

🏥 Facility Setting

• Outpatient cancer center

• Multidisciplinary, patient-centered care team

• State-of-the-art oncology programs

• Support from APPs and specialty nurses

⏰ Schedule & Call

• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Call: 1 in 5 (weekday evenings via phone, weekend rounding with APP support)

🩻 Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive oncology care including FNA/Biopsy procedures

• Participate in tumor boards

• Order and interpret tests and imaging

• Prescribe and manage treatment plans

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including genetic counselors, nurse navigators, dieticians, and oncology social workers

• Work alongside a team of 6 physicians and multiple APPs

• Outpatient clinic patient volume: 8–16 per day

• Hospital call census: ~22 patients across 2 hospitals

• EMR: Epic

• Trauma Level: 2

✅ Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology

• Active MI License preferred (willing to consider providers obtaining MI license)

• BLS certification

• Clean malpractice history (NPDB report required)
