JOB OVERVIEW

  • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
  • Coverage Period: March 9, 2026 Ongoing
  • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
  • On-Call Shift Schedule: Weekday call 5:00 PM 8:00 AM; 1-2 weekends/month (7a-7a)
  • Call Type: Beeper COVERAGE DATES
  • Ongoing coverage beginning March 9, 2026
  • Approximately 16 scheduled clinical hours per week

  • Patient Demographics: Adults
  • Patient Volume/Census: Outpatient 1822 patients per day; inpatient consult volume varies
  • Admissions: Yes, consult-based
  • Rounding: Daily inpatient rounding, approximately 12 hours based on consult volume
  • Phone Consults: Yes
  • Case Mix: Hematology and oncology patients

  • Office Equipment Available: Standard oncology clinic equipment
  • Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary hospital services

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Rhode Island medical license or ability to obtain via emergency privileges
  • Board: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
  • DEA: Active DEA required
  • Certifications: Board certification required
  • Experience: Hematology/Oncology clinical experience required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide outpatient hematology and oncology clinic care
  • Perform inpatient hematology and oncology consults as needed
  • Conduct daily inpatient rounding based on consult volume
  • Perform biopsies and related procedures as required
  • Accurately document patient encounters using paper charts and Meditech EMR
